I studied at the Royal College of Music and have worked ever since as a composer or musical director / pianist.

Most of my commissioned composing work has been for music for dance and theatre and includes scores for Leicestershire Schools Dance Service, Scottish Youth Theatre, Shetland Youth Theatre, and The Kosh.

Alongside commissioned work I have written pieces on topics that inspired me. Recent examples are 'The Diana' and '1968 - a Personal Journal'. These are also examples of my interest in electronic and computer music, both on its own and in combination with orchestral sounds. I now live on the westside of Shetland, and some of my pieces like 'Three Shetland Scenes' reflect its countryside, musical tradition and village events.
